Do you need a very low level shot? Helicopters allow the photographer to get down to very low levels, as low as 100 feet and less. Planes usually stay at 1000 feet or higher. This low altitude makes for very dramatic photos. Helicopters are very maneuverable, and can maintain slow speeds at low levels. They are the preferred “platform” for aerial photography. When is a helicopter better? When you want to combine the target with the background, in order to show the feel of the place. When you want to show the foreground, as in a waterfront home on the rocks, to also give a feel of the place. And when you need to get low, to get as much detail as possible in a shot. Helicopters give the photographer more available options to get the best photo for your home or office.
